Many recreational vessels are available at auction. Bank repossessions, storm-damaged and insurance-totaled vessels, boats that have been donated to a non-profit, as well as foreclosures and government seizures are just some of the vessels available through auctions. Many auction-buyers are more comfortable with their bid after an inspection of the boat by an independent, knowledgeable marine professional has been completed. To assist you in making an educated solid bid we offer the Pre-Auction Bid Inspection. This service is conducted by the surveyor who boards the boat and makes a preliminary inspection to determine its big-picture condition. A general report is included along with a set of relevant photos which are sent to you via email. Once received, a consult and detailed question and answer debrief will be conducted by phone. Should you then win the auction and purchase the vessel, a portion of the pre-auction bid inspection fee will be applied to the cost of the full condition/value survey that might be necessary for obtaining insurance, financing, etc. We understand the frustration that would be felt by an auction-bidder after paying for a full survey and then being out-bid, and are offering this service as a reasonably-priced option that will provide information helpful for making an educated offer, without a big upfront financial commitment. We are conveniently located in Newport Beach near National Liquidators and Long Beach, California. We can typically accommodate short notice requests.
Please Note: The Pre-Auction Bid is not a formal survey and is not intended to be a substitute for the pre-purchase or condition and value survey. This service is offered as an economical way to gain important general condition information about a vessel of interest prior to making an offer of bid in an auction. Hollander Marine is an independent marine surveying firm and is in no way affiliated with any auctioneers.
